On Tuesday night, 17th June 2008 the management of the john Hewitt were at the prestigious Theme Bar & Restaurant National Awards at the Battersea Evolution in London. Am Dienstag Abend, 17. As part of the BELFAST BAP FESTIVAL the John Hewitt has organised a walking tour of the Friars Bush Cemetery on Tuesday the 8th of July.Tickets will be available at the bar from Monday 16th of June. The John Hewitt was the first and still the only bar in Ireland to have this wonderful Black Lager on draught. The John Hewitt is delighted to announce the arrival of the No. 1 draught beer in Germany - BITBURGER. Die John Hewitt freut sich ankündigen zu der Ankunft der Nr. 1 Fassbier in Deutschland - Bitburger. After several months of negotiations we are delighted to be the first bar in Ireland to have this great Pilsner Lager on draught. Nach mehrmonatigen Verhandlungen sind wir glücklich, den ersten Takt in Irland zu haben, dieses großartige Pilsner Lager auf Tiefgang.

We took delivery of the first kegs on Tuesday and will be ready for dispensing on Monday 17th July 2006. We had hoped to be ready for the FIFA World Cup kicking off in mid June, but as Bitburger had the pouring rights at all the World Cup stadiums (a much blander American beer had the advertising rights) it was not possible to buy kegs from them without first returning empties - we, of course, didn’t have any!
