On Tuesday night, 17th June 2008 the management of the john Hewitt were at the prestigious Theme Bar & Restaurant National Awards at the Battersea Evolution in London. But when the time came to announce the Winner of the Best Beer Venue in the Uk and Ireland, it was the John Hewitt’s turn to be in the limelight and pick up the trophy. Maar toen de tijd gekomen om aan te kondigen de winnaar van de Best Venue Beer in het Verenigd Koninkrijk en Ierland, werd de John Hewitt aan de beurt te zijn in de schijnwerpers en ophalen van de trofee.

As part of the BELFAST BAP FESTIVAL the John Hewitt has organised a walking tour of the Friars Bush Cemetery on Tuesday the 8th of July.Tickets will be available at the bar from Monday 16th of June. Als onderdeel van de BELFAST BAP FESTIVAL de John Hewitt heeft wel een wandeling van de Friars Bush Kerkhof op dinsdag 8 July.Tickets zal beschikbaar zijn in de bar van maandag 16 juni. Tickets cost £5, and included a free pint of Guinness or a shot of Bushmills Irish Whiskey on your return to the bar that evening were you will be entertained by a group of traditional Irish music session musicians. This year the John Hewitt will be hosting the “Belfast BAP Festival”Begins on Monday July 7th. The John Hewitt was the first and still the only bar in Ireland to have this wonderful Black Lager on draught. De John Hewitt was de eerste en nog steeds de enige bar in Ierland te hebben deze prachtige Black Lager op de tocht. A fresh delivery has just arrived from Eastern Germany, it is served in a very elegant stemmed glass. The John Hewitt is delighted to announce the arrival of the No. 1 draught beer in Germany - BITBURGER. De John Hewitt is verheugd aan te kondigen de komst van de n ° 1 tapbier in Duitsland - Bitburger. After several months of negotiations we are delighted to be the first bar in Ireland to have this great Pilsner Lager on draught. Na een aantal maanden van onderhandelingen we zijn blij om de eerste bar in Ierland te hebben deze grote Pilsner Lager op de tocht.
We took delivery of the first kegs on Tuesday and will be ready for dispensing on Monday 17th July 2006. Wij hebben de aflevering van de eerste vaten op dinsdag en klaar zullen zijn voor de aflevering op maandag 17 juli 2006. We had hoped to be ready for the FIFA World Cup kicking off in mid June, but as Bitburger had the pouring rights at all the World Cup stadiums (a much blander American beer had the advertising rights) it was not possible to buy kegs from them without first returning empties - we, of course, didn’t have any! We hadden gehoopt om klaar te zijn voor de FIFA World Cup kick-off van medio juni, maar als Bitburger had het gieten van alle rechten op de WK-stadions (een veel blander Amerikaanse bier had de reclame-rechten) was het niet mogelijk aan te kopen vaten van hen zonder eerst de terugkeer van leeggoed - we het natuurlijk niet over!
