Located in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter, The John Hewitt first opened its doors in December 1999. On Tuesday night, 17th June 2008 the management of the john Hewitt were at the prestigious Theme Bar & Restaurant National Awards at the Battersea Evolution in London. Na terça-feira à noite, 17 de junho de 2008 a gestão do John Hewitt estiveram no prestigiado Tema Bar e Restaurante Nacional no Battersea Evolution Awards, em Londres. The Bar was up against very strong competition from bars in London, Glasgow and Wakefield. O Bar foi até muito forte contra a concorrência de bares, em Londres, Glasgow e Wakefield. But when the time came to announce the Winner of the Best Beer Venue in the Uk and Ireland, it was the John Hewitt’s turn to be in the limelight and pick up the trophy. As part of the BELFAST BAP FESTIVAL the John Hewitt has organised a walking tour of the Friars Bush Cemetery on Tuesday the 8th of July.Tickets will be available at the bar from Monday 16th of June. Tickets cost £5, and included a free pint of Guinness or a shot of Bushmills Irish Whiskey on your return to the bar that evening were you will be entertained by a group of traditional Irish music session musicians. This year the John Hewitt will be hosting the “Belfast BAP Festival”Begins on Monday July 7th. The John Hewitt was the first and still the only bar in Ireland to have this wonderful Black Lager on draught. A fresh delivery has just arrived from Eastern Germany, it is served in a very elegant stemmed glass. The John Hewitt is delighted to announce the arrival of the No. 1 draught beer in Germany - BITBURGER. John Hewitt é o prazer de anunciar a chegada do n. º 1 chope na Alemanha - BITBURGER. After several months of negotiations we are delighted to be the first bar in Ireland to have this great Pilsner Lager on draught. Após vários meses de negociações, é com prazer de ser o primeiro bar na Irlanda de ter este grande Pilsner Lager em calado.

We took delivery of the first kegs on Tuesday and will be ready for dispensing on Monday 17th July 2006. Tomámos a primeira entrega de kegs na terça-feira e estará pronto para ser dispensa na segunda-feira, 17 de julho de 2006. We had hoped to be ready for the FIFA World Cup kicking off in mid June, but as Bitburger had the pouring rights at all the World Cup stadiums (a much blander American beer had the advertising rights) it was not possible to buy kegs from them without first returning empties - we, of course, didn’t have any! Tínhamos a esperança de estar pronta para a Copa do Mundo da FIFA em dar início a meados de junho, mas, como teve a verter Bitburger direitos em todos os estádios da Copa do Mundo (uma cerveja muito blander americana teve a publicidade direitos), não foi possível comprá-los a partir de kegs sem primeiro retornando esvazia - nós, naturalmente, não tem nenhum!
